I’ve mentioned previously how I like to have a fragrance wardrobe to hand; a selection of different scents to wear depending on my mood, or occasion. I find myself reaching for lighter scents when I’m yearning for sunshine as they lift my mood. I find it hard to give up woody, spicy florals completely though. So the search for fragrances to wear between seasons can be quite frustrating.
Well, the Versace Eros Pour Femme (£50 for 30ml) has plenty of citrus, balanced with my favourite jasmine, and musk to be a good fragrance to move me from winter into spring. This new launch is said to be a fragrance of “strength, individuality and seduction” from creative director, Donnatella Versace. I love the promo photos with Lara Stone; she looks amazing.
This scent is not light and mimsy, yet it isn’t heavy or spicy. The initial hit is lemon, then floral (my favourite part – the jasmine) before it dries down into a woody, musk base. This happens quite quickly on my skin (about an hour), but slower when worn in my hair.
I love wearing fragrance in my hair, as I play with my hair so I get a lovely waft of scent from time to time. I hate it when I can no longer smell the perfume that I’m wearing, as it means I then end up topping it up (though other people can probably still smell it). I wear scent to lift my mood, or set it; if I can’t smell it then it seems disappointing.
Versace Eros pour Femme comes encased in a beautiful bottle with gold detailing, and the bottle has a beautiful glass window design so you can see through the back. It’s very pretty to look at and display. Though I store all my perfumes in my lingerie drawer, out of light, moisture, and heat. Not sure about you, but I have far too many perfumes on the go that I don’t want any to go off before I get the chance to use them up.
I have partnered with House of Fraser to give a brand new bottle of Versace Eros pour Femme away to one lucky reader. Keep reading to find out how to enter. Sorry, but it’s UK only due to Royal Mail postage rules.
